Pros and cons of RememberTheOil - Car Maintenance app for iPhone and iPad

RememberTheOil - Car Maintenance app good for

Best design car related app! Very responsive seller! With all functionality added in every new version it easily gets a place on home screen for current use.
The best app you can find in the market today. Has everything you need to keep track of you car expenses. Samy
Keep forgetting your oil change? Be on top of your regular scheduled auto maintenance with this app!
Great app. Suggested it to all my co drivers. Can be adjusted to suit all your maintainance needs. Very easy to use. The only thing that I would suggest is on color bar is from purple to yellow warning and red for over due services. Also custome report export. Where user can set dates for reports. Overall great app.
Love this app. I use it for both my cars. Keeps me on track for all my services.
A bit skeuomorphic but looks good overall and more importantly functions well. Load time for the app to launch is a bit slow.

Some bad moments

Waste of time and effort. Unreliable. I lost everything I entered in this crap after updating. Backup to cloud should be mandatory if data cant be retained after updating. Or at least a warning that data might be lost.
This app is hard-coded for mileage. There are some metric options you can enable but most of the app is designed only for those in the few remaining countries that refuse to use a logical measurement system. TL:DR: No good for Canadians
Several times now has failed to back up to iCloud. Too bad because the interface is better than most. Does not restore from iCloud, does not back up to iCloud, failed after iOS 7.x update and 8.0 and 8.02 update. Deleting right away after finding out the last series of entries were yet again deleted. Fail, fail, fail, fail.
I updated this app to its newest version and all of my data was erased. I tried restoring the cloud backup, which did not work. 3 emails attempts and 14 days later, I still have not received a single email from anyone regarding my issue.
Last update was in 18 September 2014. emailed the developer about some problems but didnt respond. If fix the problems I think its a good app.
This is an excellent app, and does what it says it will do. Having said that, there is still room for improvement. First the color scheme for this app is terrible and makes reading the data difficult. The author should allow the colors to be chosen by the user. Second, the decimal places can be set in settings, so I as the user should not have to enter a period when entering gal/ltrs or costs. I should be able to just enter numbers and the decimal should be entered automatically. Third, if the user does not have email set up on the device the app needs to tell the user. For the nay sayer reviews about losing data, if you dont use iCloud or Dropbox then yes theres a chance for data loss, but emailing yourself the data weekly ensures you will have a continuing record of your data.
