Great app

I made it through the iOS 8 upgrade without losing any data. Great for remembering and tracking all the things I have to change on my motorcycle. Overall the app works great. Would like options for better viewing the graphs of fuel data. Color for the vertical access type is hard to see and would like to be able to click on the graph to see a full screen view of a single graph.

Great but

Needs to let you add services.

Data lost

Upgraded the app and lost all my data. Have iCloud backup enabled, but it didnt work.

Working again!

Ive used this for a couple years now and have really liked it. There was a while after upgrading to iOS 8.02 that I lost all my years of data. Now its back and I love it again. Not quite sure how I got it to work, it took a lot of steps but its back.

Could be better

This app tries to be too fancy without implementing some basic functionality. It is difficult to enter information because you cant see where the cursor is placed. You just need to type and the numbers show up. I entered a bunch of fuel fill up information. I put in the mileage and the gallons filled. Unfortunately I also have to put in the trip counter because the app is too stupid to subtract the current mileage from the previous mileage and calculate the difference itself. I can understand if you miss a fill up and then use the trip counter for a better MPG calculation. But if the trip counter is missing it ought to do the calculation itself. (Update) I was entering historical fill up information when it wouldnt calculate the mileage between fill ups. Now that Im entering fill up data live it is automatically calculating the trip counter.

Ok

Very usefull

Lost Data. Twice. Im done.

I began using RTO app at the beginning of 2013. It worked flawlessly until IOS 8 update. All data lost. Wasnt able to restore from iCloud. I then started from scratch, entering my historical service records, and started keeping track of my fill-ups again. Then all of a sudden the other night, the app started stuttering and my mileage rolled back about 3000 miles. My fill-ups again were gone, as was the last service record. It will not restore from iCloud. Im done.

Good app, but not ready!

Very good UI, nice features, but very unstable. During the initial test and try, I get several crashes and multiple app freezes. Actually the app is not ready yet and is not usable. Some suggestions: - Fix the crash and freeze bugs. - Last fuel price as default. - Odometer update by swipe up/down on the digits (wheels) or +/- on each digit. - Excel cvs input / output. - Full screen charts on device rotation. - Date input via keyboard (optional). Old dates are not easy to enter via calendar. - More service options (Coolant, A/C Filter, Gearbox Oil, etc.)

Can have some polish

I recently started using this app, and so far havent had problems with data lost. And to this matter, I think that the automatic backup to Dropbox can be an assurance. Although Im enjoying the app, and its serving me well so far (specially remembering the address of my favorite gas stations), it still needs some user interface polishing. One example its the terminology still much oriented to the dreaded Imperial measurements. Other thing are the fonts: a better font which allows better contrast and more readability would be better. So far, Im enjoying and recommend this app.

It used to work

I used to like this app. Since the last few updates it has lost all my information. It always been backed up to the cloud and I get constant reminders to update my vehicles, but when I go into the app there is nothing there. Useless if it doesnt remember your information!

Second review

Gave it 2 stars last time. This time it gets 4 because user error was the problem for one of the issues I had. Now if only they could make that cursor visible.

This is not a good app

It tries to do too much but fails at the basics. It lets you input all of the following: fuel amount, total cost, and cost per unit, instead of calculating one. If you start by entering fuel amount and then enter cost, all works fine. But if you start with cost and later go to amount, the cost is erased. If you forget to re-enter the cost, you will see your averages drop, since you’re now getting some fuel for free apparently. You can input mileage and “trip mileage” (which should be a difference between current and previous mileage). But if you input your historical data, there’s no “previous” mileage so your “trip mileage” will stay at 0, which will keep the consumption also at 0. If you enter your past service date but don’t have the mileage for that date, the app will not take the closest date’s mileage, and it will not try to project the mileage for that date. Instead, it will use the current mileage. Later, you will be presented with a negative number of miles your car drives (un-drives?) per day. The app will assume all the kinds of strange assumptions about your service history before you’ve started to use the app. It will start by reminding you to change the oil right away. You will see badges on app’s icon but upon starting the app, no messages will be seen. The badge will not clear for some time. Then, it would magically disappear with no action on your side. The statistics for average mileage may make no sense. E.g. your “usage” over the “last 90 days” may be X but the “avg/day” may significantly differ from X/90 in a way that makes no mathematical sense whatsoever. The buttons to open mileage updates and fill-ups don’t look like buttons, and you may discover them by chance, or not discover them at all.

Horrible!! Cloud resets everything

I originally liked this app because it kept track of service reminders and fill ups. Then I had to restore my phone. Once my phone was restored everything was back except Remember the Oil. I had to start new. Every time I try to rebuild from the cloud everything gets reset to start new again. The cloud service ruins everything. There is no point to add everything back because once I change phones everything will be lost. I emailed customer support three times and never heard back which leads me to believe the app has been abandoned because of no response

Data loss

One day after opening the app my data was gone. iCloud backup didn’t help. All my records which I kept for years are gone.

Very good but....

Once I used several times became familiar with operation. Under Maintenance Log, would like to see that types of services entered for each service log entry could ALL be seen from entry summary, perhaps bulletized column format next to date icon. Would prevent having to open each entry to find last time air filter was replaced, for example. Also would like the service icon title limit to be increased. Example, "Engine Coolant" displayed as "Engine", which could mean anything. Also, scale text color (black) next to Statistics graph cant be seen against the grey background. I would happily pay for this app- its very good, but could be better.

Needs a repair log!

Two more things and I give you a 5 stars. The most important thing is that Im not able to log any repairs like ( replace an axle on the car) Number two fix bugs. It just need a little more work. Ponele un poco mas de ganas!

Needs work

The idea is great but it constantly forgets data even though there is an iCloud backup. Worked initially for quite some time but all my months of logs have been lost. Emailed support never heard back. Update: March 21, 2015 Still no response from support sent several months ago. All data lost. Unfortunately this is the only app that had a comprehensive list of maintenance items that I have found. Still not using it do to losing data multiple times. Good old fashioned paper and pencil work best.

Awesome

Perfect app for tracking multiple vehicles with different oil change intervals. This is the oil app you are looking for, trust me -random internet person

Lost data. NO SUPPORT.

Lost 8 months of data for no reason. Finally got some of it back but I keep getting notifications that services are due when they are not. Tried to email support but get one sentence replies back. Looking for a new app ASAP.

Excellent

So far the most versatile auto service tracking app Ive used. Creator is responsive to suggestions for updates and bug fixes (a huge plus). I have 3 vehicles I keep up with and this does a great job of alerting me of upcoming services. Flexible enough to allow only what you want to track or add new item(s) if unique to vehicle. GUI is clean and (relatively) simple to navigate. Startup is just a little slow, but hey, got to wait for the gas pump anyway! Selecting the vehicle is simple. My only complaint is the iCloud or Dropbox integration. It is buggy, at best, getting it to function (if at all). Especially tough if you are using multiple devices that keep the information (say iPhone at pump and then IPad later on at home).
